Terrifying moment out-of-control taxi ploughs into two women outside Manhattan shop as passenger reveals horror

THIS is the terrifying moment an out-of-control taxi ploughed into two women outside a Manhattan shop in a heart-stopping crash.
The two women miraculously survived despite one being hurled into the bodega’s basement and the other being thrown onto the street.

Shocking security footage obtained by WABC shows the moment the pair, standing outside a Deli Grocery, were rammed by the yellow taxi.
In a split second the vehicle veers off the road and onto the pavement.
The car hits the two women who are thrown onto the hood of the cab and then smashes right into the shopfront.
The impact sends glass, flowers and debris exploding over the street as the two girls completely disappear from sight.
One of the women was thrown down the basement stairs outside the shop while another was tossed onto the pavement, witnesses told the outlet.
Brenna was a passenger in the cab when it suddenly hurtled out of control.
She told the outlet: “Everything was normal, and then all of the sudden, we hit the flower shop.
“We had no idea what happened and then we came out and saw someone was on the ground and we saw someone was under the car.”
Other witnesses said they saw smoke billowing from the taxi after the horror crash.
The taxi was near Essex and Rivington Streets when the driver lost control.
The force of the crash was so loud, nearby shop workers said they feared the taxi had hit their own shops.
An eyewitness named Anthony said he had been eating in a cafe next door.
He told the outlet: “Two girls were walking, this cab lost control, hit the two girls.
“One girl fell to the right of the cab, the other girl fell down through the basement. It was crazy.
“I was actually talking to the girl… in the basement on the other side of the taxi cause her friend said ‘have you seen my friend?’
“We tried calling her name and then we heard a little whisper, ‘I’m right here, I’m right here!”
The witness spoke to the victims until cops arrived at the scene.
Three people were taken to hospital after the incident and are expected to recover, police said.
