Heartbreaking tributes pour for ‘truly inspirational’ cancer campaigner with ‘kindest soul’ after 10-year illness

HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid to cancer campaigner with “a heart of pure gold” after her death this week.
Jenny Murphy, from Monkstown, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at her home on Wednesday, February 25.
Jenny was first diagnosed with Sarcoma 10 years ago at just 22-years-old.
The rare cancer of the connective tissues can appear anywhere in the body.
She was a massive inspiration to many, having documented her decade-long battle against Sarcoma through videos.
In the years before her death, Jenny raised over €40,000 for the cancer charity Sarcoma UK.
The death notice on RIP.ie reads: “On February 25th, 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home, Jenny cherished daughter of Christine and the late Ciaran, adored sister of Aoife and Tom.
“Deeply missed by her dear family, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and her wide circle of forever friends.”
Her Requiem Mass took place on Friday in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Shanbally.
The family have asked donations to be made to the Irish Cancer Society or Marymount Hospice.
Her death has sent shockwaves through the community, with family, friends and loved ones paying tributes to Jenny.
One devastated mourner wrote: “I have followed Jenny’s journey for quite some time online. Jenny was truly inspiring.
“My heart feels so so heavy today. Sending all the love and strength to her family at this terribly sad time. Rest in peace Jenny x.”
Another person said: “Thinking of Chris, Aoife and Tom who Jenny adored and appreciated at this very sad time. She spoke highly of you all. You are an amazing support to Jenny.
“Jenny was a true warrior who fought her battle with dignity and determination.”
A former classmate added: “Sincere condolences to Jenny’s family and friends for this loss. I went to secondary school with Jenny and she was always such a warm, positive person. Rest in Peace Jenny.”
One mourner also shared: “Deeply saddened to hear of Jenny’s passing. She was truly inspirational, facing her illness with such courage and determination. Her bravery and resilience will never be forgotten.”
A friend wrote: “My deepest sympathies to you all on the passing of Jenny. I was so lucky to experience having Jenny as a great friend for my years in college. I have gorgeous memories with Jenny from holidays and our J1.
“Jenny was the most amazing friend with a heart of pure gold, the brightest smile in any room and had the kindest soul. I feel so lucky to have had Jenny as part of my life.
“Sending love and strength to Jenny’s family and wide circle of incredible friends who I know she adored so much.”
Another person added: “Christine, Aoife and Tom – heartbroken to hear of your beautiful Jenny’s passing. She fought an amazing battle over her illness, full of courage and life.”
