Man dies after horror single-car crash in Dublin as two others treated for injuries & gardai appeal for witnesses

A MAN has died after a horror single-car crash last night.
The collision happened at Powerstown Road, Tyrrelstown in Dublin at around 6pm.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene.
A passenger in the car, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead.
The driver and a female passenger were rushed to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at Powerstown Road, Tyrrelstown on Saturday 7th March 2026.
“Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident, which occurred shortly before 6:00pm.
“A male passenger, aged in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“His body has been removed to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The Coroner has been notified
“A second passenger (female, 30s), was brought to Connolly Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“The driver (male, 40s) was brought to Connolly hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.”
The road was temporarily closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and has since reopened.
They added: “Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
“Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Powerstown Road between 5:30pm and 6:30pm on Saturday 7th March 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
