NO TRACE

Family of Tipperary woman, 37, missing 10yrs ‘anxious’ to find her in anniversary info appeal as last sightings detailed

GARDAI have made a fresh appeal for information on the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of a mum.

Bridget Madigan, 37, was last seen in her hometown of Clonmel, County Tipperary on February 8, 2016.

But despite a series of high-profile appeals, no trace of the young woman – who lived in the Clonmel area but was known to visit England – has ever been found.

Now investigators are stepping up efforts to solve the decade-old mystery and have urged anyone who previously may have been unable to contact them to do so now, in confidence.

garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are renewing their appeal to the public for assistance on the 10th anniversary of missing person Bridget Madigan, who was 37 years old when she was reported missing from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, on June 17, 2016.

“Bridget was last seen in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, on February 8, 2016.

“Bridget is described as being 5 feet 4 inches in height, with a medium build and long blonde/brown coloured hair.

“When last seen she was wearing black knee high boots with gold around the heel and sole, a black padded long jacket and black leggings.

“Bridget resided in the Clonmel area but has been known to visit England and had travelled there in November 2015 and returned to Clonmel on January 29, 2016.”

Outlining her last known movements, they continued: “The last two confirmed sightings of Bridget were on the of February 8, 2016 in Western Road, Clonmel and on O’Connell Street, Clonmel.

“Her family members and An Garda Siochana are anxious to establish her current whereabouts.

“Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact Clonmel Garda Station on 052 617 7640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or any Garda Station.

FAMILY’S EFFORTS

“Gardai are also appealing to anyone who previously came forward and felt they could not provide Gardaí with all the information they had in relation to this matter, to contact the investigation team again.”

Family and friends of missing Bridget have previously held vigils and rallies to keep her case in the public eye.

Bridget’s first cousin Olivia Madigan helped to organise a number of events to raise public awareness that Bridget was still missing, in the hope of jogging people’s memories of any sightings they may have had of her before her disappearance.
