Man hospitalised after firearm discharged in Co Dublin as gardai seal off scene

A MAN has been hospitalised after a firearm was discharged in Dublin today. 

Emergency services and gardai rushed to the scene in Ballymun, Dublin 11.

The man was rushed to hospital for treatment of his injuries. 

Gardai believed his injuries are non-life threatening at this time and are carrying out enquiries. 

They have closed off the scene as they carry out investigations. 

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are at the scene of a discharge of a firearm in Ballymun, Dublin 11, today Sunday 15th February 2026.

“An adult male has been conveyed to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
