Shock footage of car hitting 122mph is ‘probed by cops investigating head-on taxi crash’ that killed 3 teens & man

SHOCKING footage of a car hitting 122mph is being probed by cops investigating a fatal head-on taxi crash, it is understood.

Three teens and a man in his 50s died in Bolton, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of Sunday.

Five others were rushed to hospital after the crash – involving a red Seat Leon and a Citroen C4 Picasso taxi – on Wigan Road in Deane at 12:45am.

Cops identified the victims as Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, both aged 18, and Mohammed Danyaal, aged 19. Taxi driver Mosrab Ali, 54, of Blackburn, was also named by police.

Footage has since emerged of a vehicle travelling at dangerously high speeds in excess of 120mph, Manchester Evening News reports.

The timestamp on the clip – which has been circulated widely on social media – states that it was filmed at 3am.

This is believed to be on Saturday morning, the day before the crash in the early hours of Sunday, according to the paper.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) told MEN it was aware of the clip and is understood to be probing it as part of their investigation.

One of the Citroen passengers – a 29-year-old woman – suffered potentially life-changing injuries during the crash.

Others in the vehicle, a woman, 28, and a man, 30, are being treated for serious injuries, while a 29-year-old man also suffered minor injuries.

Police added that an 18-year-old man, a passenger in the Seat, also remains in hospital with minor injuries.

Shocking footage from a nearby home shows the head-on collision between the two cars on the quiet residential road.

Emergency crews – including fire engines and a technical response unit – were scrambled to the scene.

A tactical aid unit was spotted along with a recovery vehicle.

One local resident who saw the aftermath of the accident told The Bolton News: “I can’t believe it.

“I heard the loudest bang and I seen them doing CPR on the person who was in the car accident.”

He added: “I seen the taxi driver’s passenger, a woman get out the taxi and there were two other people who was in the taxi unconscious.”

Local councillor Ayyub Patel said he was “deeply saddened” following the tragic deaths.

He added: “My heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the persons who have tragically lost their lives.

“I want to express my gratitude to the emergency services for their swift and professional response in such difficult circumstances.

“Our community will stand together in support and we will await further updates from the authorities.”

Cops confirmed the victims’ families were being supported by specially-trained officers.

The force urged anyone with information or CCTV footage of the incident to come forward.

Detective Inspector Andrew Page, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, hailed the emergency response.

He said: “We are still in the early stages of our investigation and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this terrible incident.

“We would encourage people to be mindful of sharing footage on social media given the impact this will have on all the families involved.

“Thanks to patrols in the area, teams were able to get to the incident location quickly to what was a particularly challenging scene.
