This senseless tragedy has turned the lives of her loved ones upside down.

The 60-year-old had been commuting to work when the fatal collision occurred.

What should have been an ordinary morning ended in horror.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash – a Porsche Cayenne, a Volvo tipper lorry and Michelle’s Fiat 500.

The latter two vehicles were stationary at the time of the collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.50am.

Despite their best efforts, Michelle was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a loving tribute, her family said Michelle was irreplaceable.

“Michelle was the heart of our immediate and wider family, much like Pat her late mum,” they wrote.

“She is leaving behind many broken hearts.”

They went on to describe the depth of her role within the family, paying tribute to her strength and selflessness.

“Despite the many health and personal life challenges she faces, as a wife, mother of four, sister, carer, driving force and as the glue of our lives, she held our family close with hospitality, optimism, a ‘just get on with it’ attitude and, most of all, love and laughter.

“She wanted the best for everyone and always went out of her way to support those who she could help with selflessness.”

The family said her “senseless death” has left them “utterly bereft,” struggling to envisage a future without her.

In a poignant closing message, they added: “Michelle, our beautiful mum, we will miss your smile, your hugs, your love and your silliness.

“Never had we imagined a life without you or with the emptiness left in our hearts, just know our love for you will never diminish and will miss you more than we could ever have imagined.

“We love you forever and always.”

Following the crash, the driver of the Porsche was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The man in his sixties has since been released on bail while further enquiries continue.

Anyone with information has been urged to come forward, contacting Hertfordshire Police on 101.
