Deric made many lifestyle changes, including switching to a clean diet, cutting out alcohol and prioritising better sleep.

The Virgin Media star has been sharing progress photos of his ripped physique on social media, as well as weight loss check ins.

However, some people have accused Deric of “using AI” to doctor his pictures.

Deric took to Facebook this week to set the record straight that he has not edited or photoshopped his body.

He shared his frustrations that people would insinuate he wasn’t being honest saying: “Please stop with the AI comments. I’ve trained so hard every day for six months with my PT since last August 2025 after three years of mental upset and putting on a lot of emotional weight.

“Since then I’ve given up alcohol, no chocolate, no sweets, no crisps, no bread, no pasta, no deserts.

“I’ve given up a lot and documented my journey along the way: having now lost 13kg in total. Dropped 18 per cent body fat from 24 per cent to 6 per cent.

“I’ve sacrificed a lot but I finally feel great and getting back on track so now I’m enjoying the results of the hard work.

“So please stop with this AI crap, be kind and go paddle your own canoe. I’m very focused in my own little lane.”

Deric added: “So hard and disheartening when people come at me with those type of comments especially when I’ve worked so hard.”

The presenter’s friends and fans flooded the comment section with their support.

Arabella wrote: “You look bloody HOT… well done you can clearly see that’s hard work… just peeps being jealous.”

Louise said: “Don’t mind them Deric O h’Artagain – jealousy is a high green eyed monster.”

Trish commented: “Genuine people, the people that matter know you put in the hard work.”

Siobhan added: “Ignore the begrudgers Deric! Good for you!”

Deric is usually seen travelling the country for his quirky segments on Ireland AM, as well as presenting the weather to viewers.

However, Deric has been missing from screens this week as he’s currently on holiday in Sicily.

He has shared some gorgeous photos from his trip so far over on Instagram.
