The tragic lawyer and wellbeing influencer had been trying to fall pregnant for two years with her husband when she underwent the procedure on February 17.

But what should have been a hopeful step towards motherhood turned into a nightmare.

Gabriela went into cardiorespiratory arrest at a human reproduction clinic in Sao Paulo, Brazil, according to local reports.

It has not been revealed whether she was undergoing IVF or an egg retrieval.

She was rushed to the renowned Sirio-Libanes Hospital, where she fought for life in intensive care.

Eight agonising days later, on Tuesday, doctors confirmed brain death.

Her devastating death came just one day after the couple’s eighth wedding anniversary.

Gabriela, originally from Teresina in the state of Piaui, had built a new life in Sao Paulo with her husband, orthopaedic doctor Samuel Moura.

Trained in law, she also carved out a successful career online as a therapist focused on positive psychology, mindfulness and neuroscience.

She regularly shared advice on emotional wellbeing and quality of life with her growing following.

In a heartbreaking statement posted on social media, her family confirmed her passing and authorised the donation of her organs.

They wrote: “It is with immense sadness that we communicate the passing of our Gabriela, whose brain death was confirmed today by the medical team.

“At this moment of pain, we are comforted to know that her love and generosity will remain alive through the decision to proceed with organ donation, a gesture of immense greatness that will bring hope and life to other people, just as she was.”

A memorial mass was held on Wednesday at the Santa Rita de Cassia Church.

Funeral details have not yet been released as the organ retrieval process was still underway.

It comes after another influencer in Brazil died suddenly after a “medical emergency”.

Maria Rita Rodrigues, 25, passed away on Saturday following a sudden health crisis.

The exact cause of her death has not yet been confirmed.

The devastating news was first shared by her grief-stricken parents.

In an emotional statement, they wrote: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Maria Rita.”

In a separate post, they added: “Unfortunately, Maria suffered a sudden illness and left us.”

Maria, from São Bernardo do Campo in Sao Paulo state, had built a loyal following online, amassing more than 65,000 followers on TikTok and a further 11,000 on Instagram.

She regularly posted fashion tips, selfies and candid updates about her weight-loss journey, as well as snapshots from her travels across South America, including trips to Peru and Uruguay.
