Heartbreaking first pictures of man & woman killed in horrific Armagh crash as family pay tragic ‘always loved’ tribute

TWO people who tragically lost their lives in a serious three-vehicle crash on Saturday night have been named locally as tributes pour in.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed today that three people died in a serious collision in the Armagh Road area outside Moy shortly after 10pm on Saturday night.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and two men, aged 31 and 48, and a 23-year-old woman were pronounced dead.

Assistant Chief Constable Davy Beck confirmed four other people were hurt in the crash.

Two of the deceased have been named locally as 31-year-old father Conor Quinn from Coalisland and 23-year-old mother Laura Hoy from Cookstown.

Conor’s sister took to social media to confirm the tragic passing of her brother, with a tribute saying: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Conor.

“Cherished father, brother and son. He will always be loved and missed.”

A mourner also paid tribute to Laura online, saying: “Rest in peace Laura Hoy. Can’t believe it thinking of your little girl and family at this tragic time.

“May Linda wrap her arms around you back with your big sis.”

Sinn Fein MLA Colm Gildernew said the community is in shock following the tragedy.

He said: “It’s devastating to learn that three people have tragically died as a result of a road traffic collision in the Armagh Road area of Moy.

“My immediate thoughts are with their family and friends as they begin to process this terrible incident.

“The community are deeply shocked today and I know that we will all do everything that we can to support these families in what will be difficult days to come.

“I also want to pay tribute to the emergency services for all their efforts and for attending the scene.

“My thoughts and prayers are also with those injured, and I hope they make a full recovery.”

SDLP Armagh Councillor Thomas O’Hanlon also extended his condolences, describing the incident as a “devastating tragedy” for everyone involved.

He said: “Three families and their wider communities have been plunged into deep grief. There are truly no words that can ease such pain, other than to offer our thoughts and prayers at this incredibly difficult time.

“Our thoughts and prayers are also with the first responders from all emergency services who attended the scene and were faced with such harrowing circumstances. May God protect and comfort all those affected by this tragedy.”

Following the crash, the PSNI is appealing to those who may have witnessed the incident or who have dashcam footage or any other information to come forward.

They should contact the police on 101, quoting reference number 1654-21/02/26.

Assistant Chief Constable, Davy Beck said: “At around 10.20pm, Police received a report of a three-vehicle collision involving a red BMW, a grey Volkswagen and a white Audi.

“Officers attended, along with colleagues from other emergency services, however, two men, aged 31 and 48, and a woman, aged 23, were sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Four other people sustained injuries, three of whom are receiving medical treatment. 

“Enquires are continuing and anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage or any other information, should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1654 – 21/02/26.”
