The lovebirds spoke about the baby news on RTE Radio One with Oliver Callan

RTE viewers were easily drawn towards the duo as sparks flew instantly on screen.

Fayth and James were full of fun, flirty chats and didn’t stray from discussing deeper topics.

James opened up about his ADHD diagnosis, while Fayth got emotional over her struggle with endometriosis.

By the end of the night, the pair decided they were a “match made in heaven”.

Now, the couple have revealed that they are expecting their first child together, just three months after filming the series.

Speaking on RTE Radio One with Oliver Callan, the host noted how Fayth had told James she wanted to have kids quite early on in their date.

Fayth explained: “Yes, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and there was a possibility I’d never have kids, but I didn’t think three months after meeting him I’d be pregnant.”

The couple began to laugh as Oliver questioned: “And it wasn’t planned?”

Fayth chuckled: “No, people really think we met and then three months later planned a pregnancy.”

The healthcare worker admitted that the baby news came as a “huge shock” to both their families, but gushed: “We are all over the moon.”

When asked if he felt nervous to become a dad, James proudly responded: “No, I’ve wanted to be a dad since I was about 14. I was delighted when I found out.”

James joked: “I know he’s going to be a boy and be the next Troy Parrott.”

Oliver wondered what the lovebirds had added to each others lives since meeting on First Dates.

Fayth sweetly replied: “James has brought nothing but the best. I used to be very quiet and not very confident and since meeting him I’ve totally been brought out of that.”

Meanwhile, James thanked Fayth for helping to improve his mental health.

The construction manager said: “Before, it was so horrible, I had constant noise in my head saying, ‘You’re not good enough’, but with Fayth I know I’m the best.”

And RTE listeners were quick to react to the couple’s story as they took to social media.

One fan wrote: “The loveliest couple and they deserve all the happiness in the world.”

A second said: “Awh this warms my heart.”

While a third chimed in: “This is just lovely.”

And a fourth remarked: “This is absolutely brilliant.”
