Irish star Lisa McHugh reveals return home from hospital in major health update after sepsis diagnosis

IRISH star Lisa McHugh has shared a major health update with her fans after returning home from hospital.
Last week the country singer was forced to cancel her gig with Nathan Carter at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny after being rushed to hospital with sepsis.

Lisa told her fans that she had been admitted to the hospital days previously but reassured everyone that she was receiving the “best care and treatment”.
The singer and her husband, Nathan Khan, welcomed their daughter Hallie in July 2024. They also have have a son, Milo, four.
The Fermanagh native explained that the hardest part of being in hospital was being away from her beloved children.
Lisa took to Instagram last night to reveal that she’s “finally” back with her family.
The singer shared a heart-melting snap of herself snuggling up on the couch with Milo and Hallie, who were in their adorable pyjamas.
Lisa said: “So happy to be finally home with my babies and feeling a lot better.
“Thank you for all the love and prayers.”
Lisa’s friends and fans were all delighted with the positive update and flooded the comment section with support.
Majella said: “Aww it’s great to see. Take you time Liza getting back out there. Your health is more important for you and your family at the minute.”
Helen commented: “Mind yourself Lisa.”
Annette wrote: “I’ve been thinking and praying for you. Glad you are back home, mind yourself.”
Racheal added: “Delighted to see this Lisa.”
In January 2025, Lisa was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia after a very stressful few months back and forth in hospital with her baby girl Hallie, who got RSV five times.
Unfortunately, Lisa’s health got worse in June 2025 the “stress and trauma” she’d gone through had “finally caught up” with her body.
She was then diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition that affects how the brain and nervous system communicate – which was what caused her to lose the ability to walk.
Lisa has gone leaps and bounds in her recovery since her diagnosis and got back on her feet and had even performed on the Late Late Show.
Last week’s gig would have been Lisa’s first show since her diagnoses.
She admitted that she was “so disappointed to miss out” on the performance but needed to recover.
Lisa finished off her initial statement saying: “Looks like my New Year is starting in March instead.”
